Mindfulness Based Stillness Meditation 4 Day Weekend Course

Friday 8th September- 11th -2017

This includes 3 nights accom, 8  beautiful organic vegetarian meals, all on a beautiful 80 acre property surrounded by native wild life, in a peaceful,private setting. Extremely conducive to immerse oneself into the course experience.
Mindfulness Based Stillness Meditation 4 Day Weekend Course

This retreat shall encompass the Mindfulness based Stillness Meditation course that I hold regularly. We shall flow through 8 sessions over 3 days, on the last day we shall move into silence, guidance shall always be given.

Yoga classes shall be on offer during the week-end to keep any tight areas free and relaxed. A wonderful way to learn how to meditate, or to deepen an already existing practice.

Please note this is a Meditation course, not a yoga retreat, but  yoga shall be shared  throughout  the 3 days to keep the body free from tension.

This weekend also includes my MBS Meditation CD to support you on your path when you complete your week-end retreat.

Please note: due to the small size of this retreat there shall be more time for individual needs to be addressed throughout your week-end experience, e.g. personalising your meditation practice to meet you where you are at.

 Accommodation:

The accommodation is fresh, clean and twin share, bedding is supplied, but please bring your own towel There is a fridge available in your accommodation hence if you need to bring specific dietary requirements. This is an intimate retreat, with Melissa’s Healing Space accommodating 6 participants at a time.

At times accommodation is outsourced to that of an equal standard on one of the surrounding properties if the retreat becomes larger than what Melissa’s Healing Space can accommodate. All previous participants have been most happy with this as it is a short stroll to  the yoga studio.

Please arrive from 2.30pm onwards on the 8th, as this gives you time to settle before the first class.

This course is suitable for the beginner to the experienced.
Re- connect to a practice that may have lapsed, or deepen your existing practice.

4.00pm – 5.00pm  Begin your week-end of nurturing with a yoga class to soothe and centre, all levels catered for

Time to settle into your accom before dinner.

6.00pm – 7.00pm Dinner

7.15pm – 9.00pm  Welcome circle. First session of MBSMeditation course, moving into silence


Saturday:

6.00am – 7.00am Progressive Muscle Relaxation flowing into a Mindfulness Meditation. This is a lead practice, suitable for the beginner to experienced.

7.00am – 8.00am Breakfast

Massage time available, time to rest and digest or take in the surrounds

9.30am – 11.00am Flowing yoga class with supported postures as the class progresses.

11.15 – 11.30 Morning Tea

11.30 – 1.00 Second Session of MBSMeditation course

1.00pm – 2.00pm Lunch

Massage time available, time to rest and digest or take in the surround, walk, etc.

3.00pm – 4.30pm Third session of MBSMeditation course

Massage time available, time to rest, have a cuppa, afternoon tea etc.

6.00pm – 7.00 pm Dinner

7.30pm – 9.00pm Fourth session of MBSMeditation course, short yoga posture sleep sequence, moving into silence

7.30pm – 9.00pm seventh/ eighth session of MBSMeditation course, short yoga posture sleep sequence, moving into silence.

Monday:
 
A day of silence, the practices are still guided, but there is no discourse until the completion of the retreat in our share circle.
Allowing the practices that  we have shared over the last 2 days, to be deeply felt by resting in silence on our last day.

You can transfer your deposit to another  event, If you give Melissa’s Healing Space at least 2 weeks notice.

Our Location

We welcome visitors from Brisbane, the Gold Coast and beyond…escape to the hills of the Hinterland!

Melissa’s Healing Space is situated in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, 20mins from the Hinterland town of Maleny, and 90 mins north of Brisbane.

Nestled into 80 acres of land for wildlife, expect just that, from Wallabies to an amazing array of birds, frogs and lizards, it is not uncommon to get up close and personal with
the Wallabies that graze on the property.

The 20 min drive from the township of Maleny, 10km, along Maleny-Kenilworth Rd, and another 10km along Curramore Rd is breathtakingly beautiful. The pics below are a taste of what is in store, in regard to scenery, some participants have even shared that the drive out to Melissa’s Healing Space is where their retreat experience begins.

The yoga classes are Hatha/Vinyasa (to flow in a certain way) with awareness to alignment and breath. Due to Melissa having many years of teaching experience all levels are catered for, from the very beginner to a more experienced practitioner,  with variations offered on each asana(posture). Encouraging strength and flexibility, steadily and smoothly, in a safe and nurturing environment.
